Correl guide

Start with the commitment.

Choose a Correl sales process based on what you sell, what needs agreeing and what happens after close.

What is the customer agreeing to?

Begin with the thing being sold, rather than the team’s department name. A subscription, a placement, a supply agreement and an implementation project all create different commitments. Choose the motion that best describes that commitment.

What must be clear before the sale can close?

Write down the requirements that actually change the decision. A search needs candidate and client progress. A project needs scope, milestones and delivery responsibility. A supply agreement needs volume and timing. These requirements should be part of the sales process.

Who is the customer?

Choose the relevant business or consumer audience, then check the language and information your team needs to handle that relationship. An audience setting does not replace your responsibilities for the service you provide.

Try it against real work.

  1. Take a recent successful sale and an opportunity that stalled.
  2. Map their steps to the proposed motion.
  3. Check the terminology, responsibilities and closing requirements.
  4. Test the handoff that follows the sale.

When to use custom.

Start with a prebuilt sales process when it fits what you sell. Choose custom if you need different stages or requirements, then test it with a pilot team.
